Jami Childers Does it AGAIN!

©Jami Childers

You might remember that I commissioned Jami Childers to paint portraits of my kids a few months ago. Well my kids came out so FANTASTIC that I just had to ask her to paint my husband and I to hang with them on my fireplace.

Yesterday I unwrapped the paintings to be amazed and thrilled yet again! Jami had sent me photos in progress and of the finished product, but nothing compares to the original art.

Portraits make amazing gifts, especially for the person that has everything. Jami has all the prices and information on her website.

My Day Job

A few months ago, an artist who took my workshop in Jacksonville called me and asked me if I could do a logo for her barber shop. Yes, this is the very person who traded me the portraits of my kids in exchange for my graphic design services!

Today, Jami Childers sent me this photo of her logo and window graphics that I designed, in place. As a graphic designer, I do get to see my work in this type of application. I actually designed the RDV Sportsplex logo that adorns their building here in Orlando. But there is something very satisfying about helping out a fellow artist, and small business owner. Jami told me she had been in this storefront for six years and never had any window graphics! I think she just might get some walk-in traffic to her Barber Shop and Art Studio.

If you ever need a portrait, as a gift or for yourself, please look her up and tell her Elizabeth sent you! And if you need any graphic design services, I'm here all day.

A Wonderful Portrait Artist

©Jami Childers 2010

I met Jami Childers when she took my Paper Paintings collage workshop in Jacksonville. Jami did a portrait in collage and it was fantastic, it was then that I learned just how great of a portrait artist (and barber) Jami is.

We have stayed in touch, and recently I commissioned her to paint portraits of my kids. What can I say? They are fantastic!

Visit Jami's website here, you might like to consider commissioning your own painting for the holidays. Jami worked from iPhone pics I emailed her of my kids making funny faces while we were out and about doing our daily routine. As a mom, I can tell you that this is a fantastic gift.
